Car Insurance Basics
Car insurance offers financial protection for costs that result from an auto accident. In its most basic form, it provides liability coverage to help pay for injury and/or damage you cause to another party. Minnesota also requires uninsured/underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) coverage and personal injury protection. UM/UIM helps cover bodily injury you sustain when another driver is under-insured or uninsured. Personal injury protection pays for medical expenses and lost wages, without regard to who is at fault.
The cost, known as the premium, can vary greatly depending on the coverage you choose, your driving and loss history, the vehicle being covered, and other factors. We can help keep the process simple by explaining the coverage, generating quotes from multiple insurance companies, and offering our advice. Contact us to get started.

Car Insurance FAQ
The state of MN requires, at a minimum:
Liability
– Limits of $30k per person / $60k per accident / $10k property damage.
Uninsured / Underinsured motorist
– Limits of $25k per person / $50k per accident
Personal injury protection
– Limits of $40k per person, per accident
This coverage makes it legal to drive, but not enough to protect your financial assets. Most people should look at higher limits. Physical damage may also be required if you have a loan or lease your vehicle.
